We report that our analysis of the archival data of ASCA and BeppoSAX observations revealed a weak X-ray source at position consistent with that of X-ray transient IGR J16358-4726 (IAUC #8097). The source was seen in the ASCA observation on Feb.26, 1999 at the position: R.A.=16h35m53s, Dec.=-47o25.3' (equinox 2000, position uncertainty 0.8'). Preliminary analysis of the source spectrum shows that it has high value of photoabsorption, neutral hydrogen absorption column density could estimated to be ~1e23 cm^-2.
