The large-scale space distribution and random motion of galaxies and clusters of galaxies are investigated analytically and numerically in the framework of the adiabatic theory of galaxy formation. It is shown that the random velocities of the relative motion of pregalactic objects increase rapidly with increasing distance between the objects and attain a limiting value of 300 to 1000 km/s (depending on the initial perturbation spectrum) only at very large distances (about 300 Mpc). A numerical experiment is performed which indicates that a pronounced anisotropy in the distribution and motion of galaxies is possible on scales of 100 Mpc, but that this anisotropy does not contradict the Friedmann cosmological model as a whole. The computational results are compared with observational data on the motion of the Galaxy with respect to the microwave relict-radiation background as well as with the data of Sandage and Tamman (1974, 1975) on the motion of galaxies.
