We present calculations of the absorption line profiles and radial velocity curves for optical stars in X-ray binary systems. Tidal distortion of the optical star and X-ray heating by the accreting relativistic object are taken into account. It is shown that an emission component appears in the absorption line profile when X-ray heating effect is significant. The intensity of this emission component varies with the phase of the orbital period. As a result, in the quadrature, the width of the line decreases instead of increasing. Significant dependence of the shape of line profiles, equivalent widths and radial velocity curves is found on the parameters of binary system. This gives an opportunity to determine masses of the components and orbital inclination directly from high resolution spectroscopic data on X-ray binary systems.
