Scientific paper

The paper examines a scheme of photochemical reactions involving SF6 injection at heights of 130-220 km, which includes charged particles of ionospheric origin, e, O(+), and M(+), and particles produced due to the injection, SF6(-), SF5(-), O(-), O2(-), and SF5(+). A model of time variations of the irregularity ion composition at different distances from the point of injection is developed on the basis of the photochemical equations and the reagent-diffusion equation. Calculation results for the injection of 20 kg of SF6 at 130, 180, and 220 km in the daytime midlatitude ionosphere are presented, and the specific features of the injection at the different heights are indicated.
