The effects of entropy distributions on nonaxisymmetric unstable modes in differentially rotating tori and cylinders objects are explored for the case of entropy distributions which satisfy the stability criterion for local perturbations. Although entropy distributions are not found to violently change the globle unstable modes, they do affect the nature of the waves outside the corotation point. It is concluded that the entropy gradients alter the growth rates, but do not always reduce them.
