Stellar kinematic data for NGC 4594 reveal a steep velocity gradient and enlarged velocity dispersion in the center which can be explained by a large central mass concentration. The rotation curve and radial variation of the velocity dispersions are shown to be highly nonmonotonic, with the shoulders and peaks being due to the superposition of two separate components with different kinematical behavior. The difference in the rotational velocities of the two components produces a large width in the correlation function. A low intrinsic velocity dispersion is found for both components.
