The linear continuum polarization of the highly magnetic Babcock's star was measured during five nights from 1986 to 1988 in up to five broad-band filters. Previous reports in the literature of an intrinsic origin of this polarization are not confirmed. No variability in the amount and position angles of polarization beyond the expected observational uncertainties (+ or - 0.04 percent, + or - 1 deg) could be found. Furthermore, the observed wavelength dependence of polarization can be fit by the standard interstellar relation with P(max) = 1.6 percent and lambda(max) = 520 nm.
