A method of solution for the nongrey radiative-transfer problem in the extended envelopes of protostars is described. This method has been coupled to the hydrodynamic evolutionary code of Appenzeller and Tscharnuter (1974, 1975). Preliminary numerical results for the evolution in spectral appearance of a one-solar-mass protostar are discussed.
