The Be/X-ray binary X Persei (4U 0352+30) was observed with the ROSAT Position Sensitive Proportional Counter (PSPC) in August 1992 for a total exposure time of approximately 10700 s. The 0.1-2.4 keV energy spectrum can be well fitted by a powerlaw with photon index 0.64, consistent with the powerlaw plus high-energy cutoff model found to represent the Broad Band X-ray Telescope (BBXRT) spectrum from December 1990. The amount of photo-electric absorption decreased by 30% between the two observations whereas the flux corrected for absorption remained constant. A timing analysis shows, that the spin-down episode with dot-P/P approximately 1.6 x 10-4/y since 1978 is continuing and a pulse period of 836.9s was derived.
