The earliest photometric observations of AM CVn spanning 4 months in 1962 (Smak 1967) are Fourier analyzed. The period of the dominant 525 s harmonic cannot be uniquely determined from these observations. Such an indeterminacy seems to be due to slow period changes over the interval of four months. There is also a clear evidence for another mode with the period of 1023 or 1011 s which has been reported by Solheim et al. (1984) and Patterson et al. (1992) based on more recent sets of observations. The 1962 data do not exclude the possibility that the period of this mode is secularly constant.
