Hydrodynamical models of plane-parallel radiative shocks are presented for shock velocities not less than 1000 km/s. The post-shock regions and the shocks themselves are found to be highly nonstationary. Approximate light curves of the post-shock regions are obtained. The presence of a stochastic component is suggested in the variations of flow patterns, shock parameters, and emission rates, resulting mainly from the supersonic interactions between the post-main shock gas and the dense shell at the base of the post-shock region.
