The observing result of a photoelectric astrolabe is largely affected by the processing method of photon counting data. The author proposes a processing method for photon counting data, which includes smoothing, searching and a centering algorithm. After processing nine-day's data simultaneously he concludes that the obtained star numbers of the new method are 1.48 times as many as those of the old one and the new position accuracy is 0″02 higher than that of the old one. Furthermore, the influence of the sky background is basically overcome.
