The effects of chromospheric canopy fields on p-mode frequencies are evaluated for a two layer model atmosphere. The convection zone is field-free, while the chromosphere contains a magnetic field which is uniform up to a certain height after which it decreases with height. Frequency shifts due to simultaneous changes in chromospheric field strengths and temperatures are calculated numerically. The frequency shifts increase or decrease as a function of frequency, depending upon the thickness of the middle region.
