Cataclysmic variable stars with high accretion rates show FUV continuum spectra dominated by a hot accretion disk. Intrinsic absorption lines are broadened by Doppler effects in the disk, and so interstellar lines can be clearly distinguished, despite the intrinsic variability of these sources on short time scales. We present a preliminary analysis of ISM abundances on the sight line toward SS Cygni, using data from the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer obtained during an outburst. SS Cyg has a well determined distance of 166 pc and has a high enough column density that is it well outside the Local Bubble. Substantial molecular hydrogen is also present on the sight line but can be modeled sufficiently well to allow atomic transitions of D and O to be measured.
