A graphic method for determining the orbital elements of binaries from observations is presented and demonstrated. The theta(t) curve and the apparent orbit are drawn on a large scale from the corrected position angles of the collected data; measurements of certain line segments are performed; and the mechanical and geometric elements are calculated. The method is applied to Lambda Oph (ADS 10087, STF 2055), and the results are compared to those obtained with more sophisticated methods in tables: good agreement is found for most of the elements, at least to the accuracy of the original observations.
