After a review of his studies concerning special and rare phenomena, the author analyses the correlation between the brightness of the eclipsed Moon in the Danjon's scale and the solar cycle. Nearly half of the values in Danjon's and de Vaucouleurs's original plots are unreliable because they concern partial eclipses. If one plots reliable values obtained in 1960-1996, no correlation is apparent between the Danjon scale and the solar cycle.
