Post-Starburst Galaxies, E+A Galaxies
Scientific paper
The origin of E+A (post-starburst) galaxies has been a mystery for more than 20 years. By analyzing the large and uniform sample of 133 E+A galaxies selected from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, we have found that (i) E+A galaxies are ubiquitous in the field region; (ii) E+A galaxies are not likely to be dusty-starbursts; (iii) E+A galaxies have more companion galaxies than normal galaxies do.
