In this research note previous researches on the linear stability of star clusters are generalized by adopting a galactic gravitational force of the form F is directly proportional to (r to the alpha power), where r is the radial distance from the galactic center. A special emphasis was devoted to the determination of multiple eigenvalues of the monodromy matrix and the ensuing question of strong stability. Numerical results are presented for particular galactic potentials. A hint of possible developments beyond the present stability analysis is also given.
