Various methods for constructing 3D models of the coronal field are discussed. The flux-rope insertion method is found to give a good fit to TRACE observations of coronal loops near an H-alpha filament. Data from the Advanced Stokes Polarimeter is used for extrapolating photospheric vector fields into the corona. Tests indicate that models based on chromospheric vector-field data are more reliable than those based on photospheric data.
