The cumulative observational data base and computational accuracy for the orbits of comets, asteroids and meteors are assessed. Factors influencing the accuracy of orbit calculations are discussed, including the length of observations, computational accuracy, close approaches to perturbing planets and acceleration due to jet effects of escaping gases and dust. Comparisons are made among the generic numbers of sighted objects and the lengths of observational time for each, and of the frequency of stable and unstable orbits. A cumulative tracking time of 170,000 yrs has accrued for 7600 objects with known orbits, although only short period comets have had definitive orbit evolutions calculated. It is expected that more objects will be discovered because newer detection techniques, both groundand space-based, are becoming available. In particular, the discovery rate of unstable asteroids will accelerate.
