Data collected by tape recorders on Venera-15 and -16 are transmitted to a magnetic tape at the Long Range Space Communications Center and then sent to the AN SSR Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics. There a Fourier processor, whose productivity if 50-fold that of the BESM high speed computer, and peripheral equipment are used to process the radio signals into radar imagery. Each of the developed frames consist of two and a half thousand signals each.
