Scientific paper
Collisions between clusters of galaxies are investigated to determine
whether the systems will survive their first encounter. Numerical
simulations show that two clusters can pass through one another without
destroying the individual optical components. The gas in the clusters
will be strongly affected and cooling flows in them may be disrupted.
