The approach for the sphere solution and the astrometric parameter determination of the Hipparcos satellite data reduction adopted by NDAC (Northern Data Analysis Consortium), is presented. Data for the remaining stars, of which many are double, multiple or disturbed by veiling glare, are also studied. An updated version of the input catalog is applied for stellar data derivation. Concerning the observation model, the theoretical abcissa and the global unknowns are examined. Observation and normal equations are studied. The main output stellar data and the organization of the programs are included.
