A series of spherical harmonic analyses of the acceleration of the geomagnetic field was carried out on the basis of data from 43 magnetic observatories for 1930-1980. The inclination angles of the piecewise-linear approximation of the secular variation curves were used as the input data. A comparison with other data demonstrates the high accuracy of the models obtained.
