A comparative study of few-body systems with gravitational and electromagnetic interaction is given, with emphasis on similarities and distinctions of a number of relevant characteristic features. Recent advances in investigations of multiply excited atomic and planetary celestial systems are presented and a number of some interesting analogies are discussed.
