The methods for the investigation of the nonequilibrium of meteor radiation are discussed. These methods allow the determination of the effective excitation temperature, the temperature and degree of the ionization and the concentration of some ions in the meteor coma. We have investigated a few photographic spectra of the bright Perseid meteors. It was found that the excitation temperatures have values from 1500 K to 12000 K, but the ionization temperature only goes from 1600 K to 7000 K. The concentration of the CaII ions was determined also. According to our results there were 1016 - 1018 ions/cc in the meteor coma. It was shown that these physical characteristics have their minimum values at the maximum meteor brightness.
