Multifrequency radio observations of the low-luminosity radio galaxy NGC 315 at parsec resolution are presented. The observations were obtained at 1.6, 5, and 8.4 GHz with the European and U.S. VLBI networks. In addition, VLA observations were used to obtain arcsec resolution maps at the same frequencies. The radio morphology of NGC 315 is asymmetric at milliarcsec resolution. It shows nuclear emission with a core size of 0.05 pc, and a one-sided jet. At arcsec resolution a counterjet which is shorter and much more diffuse than the main jet is seen. A spectral index profile at parsec resolution is derived, and the physical conditions in the parsec-scale jet are estimated.
