VLA 6-cm radio maps and flux and polarization telescope spectra are the bases of the present search for relationships among the many properties of radio galaxies, with emphasis on spectroscopic and morphological properties. The high variability of broad permitted lines, with the Balmer decrement inversely related to continuum flux, are noted, together with broad Balmer line components that are probably more blueshifted with respect to the narrow lines in radio doubles than nondoubles. Various optical parameters are found to correlate with other spectral and radio source properties; these include correlations of oxygen ionization level with forbidden S II density, with broad H-alpha component luminosity, and, inversely, with H-beta broad component width.
