The differential equations for the Green's function for the electromagnetic vector-potential wave equation are expanded in Robertson's geodesic coordinates in Reimannian spacetime. It is concluded that a necessary and sufficient condition that the Green's function (1) satisfy Huygens's principle and (2) reduce to the special-relativity Green's function in the case of flat spacetime is that the spacetime be flat.
