We discuss new observations of the Beta Pictoris circumstellar disk taken with the NTT Coronograph. This instrument has been developed to utilize the excellent seeing and image quality at the ESO/NTT for coronographic imaging at visible wavelengths. The observations probe an inner region of the disk 100 AU to 35 AU from the star in three colors (B, V and R). We discuss the methods employed for subtraction of the stellar seeing disk and their impact on the photometric calibration of the disk's midplane surface brightness. The results of our analysis are compared with the predictions of a recent disk model by Backman et al. 1992 in which a two component disk model is proposed.
