Photopolarimetric investigations in the coma and tail region of Comet P/Halley for the molecular emission bands of CN, C3, CO(+), C2 and H2O(+) have been carried out. The wavelength dependence of polarization shows a decrease in polarization across different emission bands where the emission takes place by resonance fluorescence mechanism. Using Stokes parameters, calculations have been done for the resonance fluorescence polarization values in different emission bands. It has been found that emissions from CN, C2 and C3 have polarization values between 5-7 percent (at a phase angle of 66.1 degree). For CN and C2 the polarization values agree well with the theoretically predicted values, but for C3 the polarization value falls much below the theoretically predicted value.
