Criteria for matching spacecraft trajectories are understood to mean the probabilities of collision or of large trajectory deviation during rendezvous and docking. In the present paper mathematical expressions of these probabilities are derived by placing the origin of nonrotating Cartesian coordinates at the center of mass of the passive spacecraft and assuming that the scatter matrix of the coordinates and relative velocities during the final stage is a diagonal matrix. The expressions obtained can be used in the programmed guidance system to minimize the risk of collision and faulty docking.
