In order to test directly the hypothesis that UV-bright stars mimic normal (Population I) OB stars, high-quality classification spectra of UV-bright stars from five globular clusters are compared with those of standard stars in the Galactic disk. Well-exposed spectra are obtained from three of the stars, and from these it is clear that none of these stars can be confused with normal, Population I stars. It is concluded that it appears possible to distinguish between young, luminous, massive stars and old, faint, low-mass stars on the basis of their spectra at classification dispersion.
