Preliminary results of spectroscopic studies of selected Seyfert
galaxies employing a new Cassegrain echelle spectrograph completed at
ESO are presented. Subjects reported are the asymmetric profiles of
narrow emission lines, spatial variation of narrow emission line
profiles, and the interstellar absorption lines.
