As a model of the Lyman alpha absorbing systems of quasar lights, the
gravitational equilibrium of a baryon clump within an extended dark
matter composed of collisionless particles is examined. There exists the
critical mass below the clump is stable. It is highly probable that
these baryon clumps may be the Lyman alpha absorbers.
