The effect of dynamical properties of a galaxy on the shape of the pattern is investigated. The reactions of a gaseous disk to nonaxisymmetric forces and to spiral modes formed from a global gravitational instability in the stellar disk are analyzed. It is concluded that the weak perturbation model radically changes the interpretation of galactic power spectra and the patterns are time dependent.
