The authors report AAT observations of two southern AM Herculis variables, H0139-68 and E1405-451. H0139-68 was found to be in an unusually faint state (V ⪆ 17), and this has permitted the first measurement of the magnetic field of the white dwarf, BP ≡ 3×107G. Linear polarimetry of E1405-451 has revealed a substantial position angle variation with phase, corresponding to an orbital inclination of ≡60° and a colatitude of ≡20° for the magnetic pole of the white dwarf.
