UBV photometry of R CrB on 99 nights during 1988 is presented. The star
was close to maximum light during these 5 months and showed its usual
small variability of about 0.2 mag in V. However, a period analysis
reveals no sign of the customary 44-day period; instead, periods of
about 59, 31, and possibly 23 days were present.
