A technique for the automated identification of geomagnetic pulsations is proposed which consists in the analysis of divergences obtained when comparing actual observations with a specified ensemble of pulsation models. Each model describes a specific type of pulsation and comprises a combination of deterministic and stochastic components. The proposed approach is used for the identification of Pi2 pulsations according to measurements made at a digital electric-survey station.
