The IR Space Observatory camera, 'ISOCAM', will operate at 4 K and cover the 2.5-17 micron range with two different channels. The prospective geometrical aberrations and diffraction of ISOCAM were studied on the basis of a complete ray-tracing of the system, including the f/15 Ritchey-Chretien telescope. Chromatic aberrations have been reduced through the use of Ge for the 5-17 micron range and Si for the 2.5-5 micron range. Attention is given to the possible appearance of such effects as deformation and systen ghost images. A cryocooled camera simulator was developed to test the 4 K optics by means of point-spread function measurements.
