Planet formation around stars of 0.5, 0.7, 5 and 10 solar masses is discussed. It is noted that planets do not form within the stellar lifetime in the outer regions because it takes more time to form planets at larger distances from the star. An upper limit of about 10 solar masses is found for the mass of a star which is accompanied by planets, and an upper limit of about 3 solar masses is found for the mass of a star accompanied by a planet whose surface temperature is nearly the same as that of the earth.
