Analytic expressions for spectral rates of synchrotron emission by electrons, single photon pair production and single photon pair annihilation are derived in the mildly relativistic regime for plasmas immersed in magnetic fields of strength approaching the quantum critical value of Bc = 4.41×1013G. The rates are evaluated for monoenergetic, thermal and power-law pair distributions and are compared with existing ultrarelativistic quantum results and also with previous work in the mildly relativistic classical regime. The relatively compact results derived in this paper find direct application in the theory of pulsars and γ-ray burst sources in strong magnetic fields.
