The time-dependent equation of radiative transfer for isotropic scattering has been solved by integral equation technique in terms of X- and Y-functions appropriate for the problem. It is seen that X- and Y-functions are reducible to the corresponding function for steady-state problems by simply changing the Laplace transform parameters - i.e., by S → 0.
