A computer program that statistically models some of the significant factors associating the various probabilities of a successful search for extraterrestrial intelligence is presented. These factors include the expected number and distribution of coexisting intelligences, their longevity, and likely transmitter powers and signal frequencies. The model is further extended to include likely coding techniques, language structure and message content.
