A three-parameter chart of the visible side of the moon based on the albedo rho (0.62) and the color indices C1 (0.62/0.38 microns) and C2(0.95/0.62 microns) is described. These charts were used for the optical division of the lunar surface. Associated requirements included: (1) the appearance of surface optical types and (2) the construction of charts of the section on which regions belonging to each optical type of surface can be identified.
