There is good evidence that novae in general and nova FH Ser 1970 in
particular have (had) optically thick winds for a long time after the
initial explosion. If this interpretation is accepted the total kinetic
and radiative flux of FH Ser appears to have stayed well above the
Eddington limit for about two months after optical maximum.
