It has been proposed that high-energy electrons (E = 40-100 MeV) in the region of the Brazilian anomaly are produced due to the interaction of inner-radiation-belt protons with the residual atmosphere at L = 1.2 to 1.4. Electron fluxes in the radiation belt are analyzed in the framework of this mechanism. It is suggested that the proposed mechanism can explain the high flux (compared with the albedo flux) of high-energy electrons in the region of the Brazilian anomaly.
