Data from the Irkutsk station during 1966-1976 and from the Noril'sk meridian stations are used to study the characteristics of geomagnetic pulsations observed during solar flares accompanied by the generation of intense X-rays. The conditions under which these pulsations are excited are determined, and the morphological and spatial characteristics of the pulsations are investigated. Three maxima in the pulsations are observed, centered at periods of 40, 100, and 300 s. A minimum at a latitude of 65 deg, a sharp rise in amplitude at 70 deg, and a falloff toward the polar cap are observed in the latitudinal intensity distribution. Possible mechanisms of excitation are considered.
