A high-quality (S/N in the range from 30 to 100), high-resolution (approximately 1.8 A) spectrum of the photometrically and spectroscopically variable Seyfert 1 galaxy Arakelian 120 has been obtained in the wavelength region including H-beta. The observed H-beta line profile can be considered as a benchmark for future line profile studies of this interesting object. The origin of the extended red wing of H-beta is discussed.
