The plasma-laser star model for quasars has been used to identify the
emission and absorption lines, as well as the continuum discontinuity,
in the spectrum of the quasar 0420-388. The He-I 3680-A discontinuity is
identified for the first time in an astronomical spectra. Two
predictions are made.
